September 25 is the biggest day of the season, obviously, not only in terms of number of new releases but almost certainly in terms of volume, since FIFA and Pandaria should move very good numbers. It is also a day with almost no releases that interest me.

My big month will be October, as I’m really eager to get my hands on Dishonored, XCOM, and Assassin’s Creed III, not to mention some minor interest in 007 Legends, Layton, and Zero’s Escape. The latter games will be my moment of 3DS weakness, although I didn’t like 999 enough to make Zero’s Escape seem essential. The new Paper Mario in November will also weigh towards the 3DS, but probably not enough to convince me to buy this year.

It’s a good time of year to like driving games. The release date for NASCAR Inside Line is a bit absurd, though. Only two races will be left in the season by then, and unless there’s another points duel interest in the series will be very much on the wane. Putting a multiplayer racing game up against Halo might also not be the best idea.
